Outer Catalonia is, others, the set of people and entities that develop their activity outside Catalonia. Over the years, the Catalans abroad have been building buildings to be the headquarters of Catalan centers or houses, have erected monuments to Catalan personalities, have created entities, foundations, corals, wild, etc. The Catalan cultural heritage abroad, both the material and the immaterial, it is significant enough but quite unknown. For these reasons, the International Federation of Catalan Entities (FIEC) developed the campaign "The cultural treasures of Outer Catalonia" and these treasures were chosen by popular vote in the summer of 2012. The exhibition was presented, for the first time, at the discretion of the IEC (Institute of Catalan Studies) in Barcelona last November 2013.
