Description

Cadiz, Spain, the year is 1811. In the streets of the most liberal city in Europe, young women appear flayed with whips. In every place, before the discovery of the body, a French bomb has fallen. That draws a superimposed and sinister map over the city.: a complex chess board where a player's hand is hidden–a ruthless killer, chance, artillery curves, the direction of the winds, The calculation of probabilities moves pieces that decide the fate of the protagonists: a corrupt and brutal police officer, the heiress of an important Cádiz commercial house, a privateer captain with few scruples, a misanthropic taxidermist and spy, a touching guerrilla from the salt flats and an eccentric artilleryman to whom wars matter less than solving the technical problem of the short range of his howitzers.
