Exhibition of Lourdes Fisa Lisbon

Catalan Luxembourg Centre has organized a traveling exhibition of the Catalan artist Lourdes Fisa the title “Paths of discovery. Camões from the Mediterranean” with the aim of promoting cultural exchange between Catalonia and Portugal. Installation, inspired by the figure i l'work of the poet Luis de Camões, explores the theme of discovery, that inspired Camões but permeates the culture of a people adventurous emigrants. Fisa-Lisbon Camões is revisited by an artist Mediterranean, also looking for new paths, that have allowed him to feel and express identity essences crossing artificial barriers of history.
In Luxembourg the presence of Portuguese accounts 17% of the resident population and CCL, years, encourages the relationship between the two cultures are very close but unknown. Installation, Luxembourg presented in collaboration with the Instituto Camões, could lead to Lisbon with great organizational effort, since it is the first activity of CCL outside the zone of direct influence and that in Lisbon there Casal. The exhibition has been very successful in Portugal for its innovative and daring character of its location in an ancient underground water reservoir in central Lisbon. L'work will be presented to the Seu de l'Instituto Camões Luxemburg between day 7 June and 5 July 2007, framed in the year of European Capital of Culture region Luxembourg, i Saarland Lorraine. Subsequently exhibited at the Museum Patriarchal Reservoir da da Água Lisbon, of 23 d'April 29 May 2008. The opening ceremony in Lisbon took advantage to celebrate Saint George's Day and enjoy a poetic-musical session with the presence of Catalan poets Carlos Duarte, Teresa Pascual and Jordi Pàmias, that being translated by three actors (among them, Julio Martín) and accompanied by Portuguese musicians. On November the installation will be presented at the Casino de Manresa.
