11 May: conference by Ferran Iniesta

Dr. Ferran Iniesta is a prestigious historian and master of anthropology whom we have invited to talk to us about a very broad topic which is, at the same time, his main field of study: Africa. The conference will have as title “Democracy in Africa: dialogues with the leopard” (French). It will deal with the journey towards democracy based on the particular idiosyncrasies of the Continent. It will start on Monday, May 11 at 20.00, in the mark of the Hall of Arts of the National Library the Luxembourg (next to the Cathedral).

Ferran Iniesta has a doctorate in History and a degree in Catalan Philology. Today he is a professor at the University of Barcelona, but it has also been the case in Dakar (Senegal) in Antananarivo (Madagascar). Founder of the African Studies Center and the African Research and Teaching Group, has published a dozen titles that have become reference works in African history and anthropology studies.
