12 December: dinner-conference in support of La Marató de TV3

Catalonia is a country with a large number of Christmas traditions. Some of them are ancestral and have reached our days slightly transformed. Others are quite new, but they have taken root strongly. One of them is TV3's Marathon: a solidarity project promoted by Televisió de Catalunya and the Fundació La Marató de TV3 and focused on obtaining financial resources for the scientific research of diseases that, for now, they have no definitive cure.

La Marató de TV3

This year's edition of this program of Televisió de Catalunya that was born on 1992 is dedicated to rare diseases (or minorities). Given that the European Commission Unit that deals with this type of disease is in Luxembourg and that some members of the Catalan Center have been working there for years, the CCL has decided to get involved and collaborate. We will do this by organizing a charity dinner to raise funds. It will be at the Hotel Melià in Luxembourg (1, Park Three Oaks, alongside the Philharmonie and MUDAM) the day 12 December at 20.00 hours.

To register, write to our address or call the (00352) 691 68 66 55. If you cannot attend the dinner but would like to donate to this project, you can deposit your contribution to the account of the Catalan Center of Luxembourg (LU 42 1111 0921 6616 0000, a la CCP) noting the mention “Marathon 2009”.

TV3 will send a team to the dinner and broadcast a report on Sunday 13.

Besides, monday day 7 December, in the program now, TV3 broadcast a live interview with Antoni Montserrat Moliner, responsible for the European policy in rare diseases of the European Commission (the members of the CCL). You can see it here:
