The long career of Maria del Mar Bonet, which goes back to the time of the "Sixteen Judges" and the difficult times of the Franco dictatorship, and her international projection allow us to say that the singer needs no introduction. Not tan sols in Luxembourg, where he has acted on two occasions (1988 and 1994) in front of a full and completely dedicated audience. For this third visit, the Mallorcan artist has prepared an extraordinary recital in which he presents the musical version of a selection of poetry from his homeland.
In the company of pianist Dani Espasa, Bonet will offer us a concert with the melodies they have created and chosen to bring to everyone the verses of Majorcan poets from all eras. The sample comes from Ramon Llull (13th-14th centuries) until Miquel Àngel Riera (segle XX). Thanks to all of them and the unique voice of the singer, the night will acquire a magical atmosphere worthy of great recitals.
The concert will take place on Monday 3 of May at the abbey of Neumünster at 20.00. Tickets can be purchased (25 euros normal rate, 20 for members and students) on the page of Luxembourg-Ticket or directly to the abbey on the evening of the concert.
This concert is supported by the Cultural Encounter Center of Neumünster Abbey, of the Government of Catalonia and the Embassy of Spain in Luxembourg.
A small reminder of other Center activities: Tuesday 4 May, we will hold a dinner-debate with the mathematician Claudi Alzina on "The vitamins of mathematics" (or the mathematics of everyday life) at the Melià hotel. Claudi Alzina, in addition, will pronounce the 5 of May a conference on Gaudí's mathematical secrets at the University of Luxembourg.
