4 and 5 May: two interventions mathematician Claudi Alsina

Wednesday 4 and Wednesday 5 in May you will have two opportunities to delve into the world of mathematics thanks to a passionate person who has made it his profession and knows how to explain it in a relaxed and accessible way to the general public. The guide in question is Claudi Alsina, Doctor in Mathematical Sciences and professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Wednesday 4, at the Melià hotel in Luxembourg (1, Park Three Echelen), a dinner-debate will take place with the title "The vitamins of mathematics". As dessert of the meal served in the excellent restaurant of this hotel, Doctor Alsina will talk about mathematics in everyday life and answer the questions of the diners. Wednesday 5, at 19.00 hours, Claudi Alsina will deliver a conference in English at the University of Luxembourg (old campus of the Limpertsberg). The title is "Gaudí's geometrical secrets" and will deal with the mathematics hidden behind the works of the architect Antoni Gaudí. The rector of the University will also speak, Rolf Tarrach. Free entrance.
