We present a new initiative of the Generalitat de Catalunya in favor of Catalans abroad in this case aimed at children and young people. In Catalonia, for years now, in the summer camp campaign organized by the Generalitat aimed at children and young people in Catalonia, 8 a 16 years is called “Summer is yours”. This year it is possible to organize one or two camps aimed exclusively at Catalan children and young people living abroad.. A version of Summer is your exterior, adapted to the specific needs of this group, especially with regard to the opportunity to improve knowledge and, above all, the practice of the Catalan language within a program that combines leisure, leisure and sports activities and the possibility of sharing among equals (sons and daughters of Catalans living abroad or children of mixed couples).
Depending on the demand expressed by the Catalan Communities Abroad, from the Catalan Foreign Agency propose, initially, the possibility of organizing two summer camps of the same 2014:
- Combined stay of Catalan reinforcement camps and multi-sports camps at the Generalitat hostel in Barcelona, of 13 to the 26 July, with a price of 665 € (travel not included)
- Stay of Catalan reinforcement camps and cultural discovery in the hostel of the Generalitat de l’Escala (Costa Brava, Girona), of 12 to the 22 August, with a price of 479 € (travel not included)
In this document you will find information - pending to be specified depending on the demand and the concretion of the programs of activities in accordance with the particular needs of the children and young people of- which can be used to expand on what the Generalitat has to offer.
The action in support of Catalans abroad is the offer to include children and young people from Outer Catalonia, with a program of activities specifically tailored to them, at a competitive price due to the fact that they are summer camps organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya itself.
We need all families interested in this project to let us know before 5 June, ha what the day 6 we must inform the Generalitat of the number of interested parties. In the message you send us, you must provide us with the child's name and surname, the age and stay chosen (Barcelona or l’Escala). Depending on the demand for each of the stays, the Generalitat will assess the feasibility of confirming the program and its actual execution. In that moment, the Generalitat will inform the interested families of the consolidation or cancellation of the stays or, in the event that demand far exceeds supply, the organization of a raffle for the allocation of places. You need to be informed that, despite the interest, this is not a compromise, but the determination must be real to avoid misunderstandings.
