COURSE proficiency (C1 – Old Level C)
TARGET AUDIENCE: to Catalan-speaking people who want to acquire a mastery of the use of the general language, the standard variety, to communicate successfully in communicative situations that require the use of a language fairly formal or formal.
TARGETS:
– Gain confidence in the use of basic aspects of spelling, morphology and syntax: neutral vocal, o/u, the accent and diaeresis, weak pronouns, relative pronouns, prepositional verbs, etc.
– Be able to use a wide vocabulary, accurate and genuine.
– Produce texts in formal register on a wide variety of general topics.
– Be able to argue solidly in both oral and written texts.
METHODOLOGY:
– Each week the rules will be explained on a specific linguistic issue. Exercises will be given to do at home with correction keys. Doubts will be discussed in the next class.
– Each week the student will write a written assignment at home based on starting texts and instructions. The corrections will be discussed in class, so many purely linguistic elements (grammatical and lexical) as textual (adequacy, consistency, cohesion, etc.)
TEST MODEL: it has not yet been fully adapted to the Common Framework of Reference.

COURSE LEVEL (C2 – Does not correspond exactly to the old level)
TARGET AUDIENCE: to Catalan-speaking people who want to carry out complex linguistic tasks and activities in the workplace or academic field, both in oral and written, and they need to acquire and demonstrate a high level of Catalan.
TARGETS:
– Critically interpret complex texts to coherently integrate them into a new type of text, both oral and written.
– Argue in a solid way adapting to a given communicative situation.
– Communicate in a formal register and with the characteristic features of the standard variety: good use of the elements of cohesion and coherence, wide linguistic repertoire, clarity, fluency, linguistic correction, vocabulary control and accuracy.
METHODOLOGY:
– Each week the student will have to write a written assignment at home based on starting texts and instructions. The corrections will be discussed in class, so many purely linguistic elements (grammatical and lexical) as textual (adequacy, consistency, cohesion, etc.)
– In class, the most important language content of Level C1 will be reviewed and the corresponding content of Level C2 will be covered in depth.
TEST MODEL: has been adapted to the requirements of the Common European Framework of Reference.
