Wednesday 22 d’abril, at 16.00 hours, the church of St. Alphonse (Capuchin's Street, between Beaumont Street i Theater Square, in Luxembourg City) you have the opportunity to attend the performance of a choral Catalan. Specifically,, the choir Empordà.
Founded in the Avinyonet de Puigventós 2001 the director Cloti Miró, the choir of the Empordà brings together nearly forty singers from different villages of the Alt Emporda. His repertoire includes the works of Bach, Brahms, Haendel, Mendelssohn, Mozart or Schubert, as well as other popular from anonymous, ranging from the thirteenth to twenty-first century, so a capella and with piano accompaniment, organ or orchestra.
In recent years he has been doing a task recovery works by empordanesos and recorded an album dedicated to Victor Empordan traditional Catalan songs and others with his letter, all harmonized or music of Lluís Albert.
The choir Empordà, currently led by Quim Mandado, has performed concerts in different towns in Catalonia and France. He has collaborated in several choral works with the Empordà Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Carles Coll.
