We will start with the screening of the documentary Conxita Badia does not exist. Then, we can talk to Mireia Domènech and Bonet. In addition to being a journalist and writer, Mireia Domènech is the great-granddaughter of Conxita Badia and coordinates the celebration of the Conxita Badia year. Finally, we will have dinner at the venue.
Conxita Agustina Manuela Badia i Millàs was born in Barcelona on 14 of November 1897. He excelled in music from an early age and studied at the Granados Academy, where he met Enric Granados, who was his first teacher. The composer noticed that the young student had an extraordinary gift for music. I played the piano, instrument in which he excelled, but concentrated on singing. This artistic discipline led her to success at a young age. After the death of Granados, she became a collaborator and disciple of Pau Casals. With the outbreak of the Civil War, he had to be exiled, to countries like France, the United Kingdom, Austria, Argentina, Mexico and Switzerland and Quebec, and performed on the most prestigious stages of the time. At the end of the decade of 1940, returned to Catalonia, where she resumed the performances and work as a teacher. Despite his talent and his influence, the figure of the soprano had been unfairly forgotten. With this activity we want to contribute to its recovery, taking advantage of the impulse of the year Conxita Badia.
