Of 24 to the 26 of April will be held in Luxembourg the poetic spring or Spring of poets. The edition of 2008 it was a resounding success and no less is expected this year. This year's theme is LAUGHING(S) and the program provides:
Friday 24:
- 19.00: Tribute to Jean Tardieu at the Culture factory (116, rue de Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette). Seven of the guest poets and the musician César Stroscio will speak.
Wednesday 25:
- 16.00: Cloister of the abbey of Neumünster. Recital “LAUGHING(S)” with Jean-Pierre Verheggen and music by César Stroscio.
- 17.30: At the chapel of Neumünster Abbey, vernissage of the photographic exhibition on the Printemps des poètes 2008.
- 19.30: At Neumünster Abbey, Great night of poetry with all the poets invited besides César Stroscio and André Mergenthaler. There will also be a show “Ritual” with music by Camille Kerger and texts by Nico Helminger.
Wednesday 26 (International Day of Catalonia Exterior 2009, by the way):
- 11.00: At the Simoncini Art Gallery (6, rue de Notre-Dame, Luxembourg Ville), poetry recital and farewell to Spring.
For the edition 2009 of Spring, the Catalan Center of Luxembourg has invited the poet Víctor Obiols (to the photo) to represent Catalonia in this international meeting. The author will intervene in the Friday and Saturday evening sessions.
Obiols is a multifaceted man: university professors, musician, poet, translator, festival director “Barcelona poetry”, essayist, corrector… and winner of the Miquel de Palol and Màrius Torres poetry awards. We will have two opportunities to hear him in Luxembourg alongside other festival guests such as Seyhmus Dagtekin, Anise Koltz, Rosaria Lo Russo, Bernard Noël or Jose Luis Peixoto, others.
