As you know elections to the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate have been officially convened the next day 26 June 2016.
Given the tremendous difficulties that the voting system based on the so-called 'voto rogado' presents for voters abroad, and even more so after the unfortunate experiences with the recent elections to the Parliament of Catalonia 27 September 2015 and with those of Congress and Senate of 20 December 2015, we thought it appropriate to send you again this Quick Guide on the voting system prepared by the FIEC (International Federation of Associations Catalan).

The CERA (Electoral Register of Absent Residents) that is used in these elections is the one closed on March 1st 2016. As 205.906 Catalans living abroad, older than 18 years, around the world with the right to vote in these elections. The total number of Spanish voters summoned is 1.920.256.
The terminology of sol.licitude of the 'requested vote'’ is from 3 to the 28 May 2016 and that of Claims for Inclusion in the CERA, in case you are not listed, of 9 to the 16 May.
Do not forget those who have not been registered in the Consular Registration Register as permanent residents and, accordingly, you are not in CERA (Electoral Register of Absent Residents) that between days 3 and 28 of May you have the option to register with ERTA (Spaniards Temporarily Absent Residents) as temporary residents in order to be able to exercise your right to vote.
