The second film of the XXX Film Series will be Liberty, by Clara Roquet. We will see her at the Utopia cinema on Monday 23 in January 19 hours.
Liberty it was selected in the Cannes critics' week and opened the Valladolid festival. Clara Roquet's film tells the story of the Vidals. The family spends Grandma Ángela's last vacation at her summer house, who suffers from Alzheimer's in an advanced state. For the first time in his life, Nora feels that she does not find her place: at fourteen she is too old for children's games and too small for grown-ups' conversations. But everything changes with the arrival of Freedom, fifteen years old and daughter of Rosana, the Colombian donut who takes care of Ángela. Rebel and magnetic, Libertad becomes the door to a different summer.
Critics have highlighted the work of the actresses Maria Morera and Nicole García. It also highlights the subtle way in which class differences are presented, inequalities, mother-child relationships, adolescent friendship and the youthful desire to discover the world.
The XXX Cinema Series is supported by Catalan Films and TV, Transports Fernández and the Secretary of External Action and the European Union of the Generalitat of Catalonia. It also has the collaboration of the Spanish Embassy in Luxembourg.
