XXXI Film Cycle

Our first activity of 2024 it will be the XXXI Film Cycle. In this edition we present five films (one of them, children's) between 20 January and February 1. Besides, we will have a special guest: Oscar Camps, founder and director d’Open Arms.

XXXI Film Cycle

With Always, the screenings will be in the cinema Utopia of the Limpertsberg.

We will start with a weekend of Catalan cinema: Saturday 20 and Saturday 21 in January we will present two recent Catalan films: Creatura i Vasil. We will continue on Thursday 25 of January with the animated film They shot the pianist and, Saturday 27, with another work of animation in this childish case: Tadeo Jones 3. Finally, we will conclude the Cycle with a luxury: the projection of Mediterranean with the presence of Óscar Camps, protagonist of the film as the founder of the NGO Open Arms.

Wednesday 20 January, at 20 hours, Creature. Elena Martín Gimeno's film presents the story of Mila, a young woman who faces trauma in order to move forward with her life after settling in a summer house. The work has received several awards (in Cannes and San Sebastian) and is the most nominated for this year's Gaudí awards.

Wednesday 21 January, at 18.30 hours, Basil. This dramatic comedy by Avelina Prat tells us the story of Vasil, Bulgarian immigrant and great bridge and chess player, and Alfredo, a widowed and retired architect. The film was very well received and won awards, especially for the interpretation of Karra Elejalde.

Thursday 25 January, at 21 hours, They shot the pianist. Years after the acclaim Boy and Rita, Fernando Trueba and Xavier Mariscal collaborate again in an animated film. On this occasion, they tell us the story of the Brazilian pianist Francisco Tenório Júnior.

Wednesday 27 January, at 16 hours, Tadeo Jones 3: the emerald table. The endearing Tadeo Jones wants to be accepted by his fellow archaeologists, and the fact that he breaks a sarcophagus and unleashes a spell doesn't help much. A very funny tape, directed by Enrique Gato, that has convinced children and adults.

Thursday 1 February, at 21 hours, Mediterranean. Based on real events, the tape shows us the story of Óscar Camps, rescuer and Badalonian activist, performed by the great Eduard Fernández. She has won three Goya awards and was nominated for ten Gaudí awards. Besides, we will have the presence of Óscar Camps.
