Announcement of the winner of the European storytelling competition

This year the European houses have coordinated with the Sant Jordi excuse and presented one very special novelty: the winning work of our literary contest had the opportunity to go to a European final. Similar contests are celebrated in many Catalan communities in Europe. In this way, the winners of each compete against each other in two categories: micro-story and narrative.

As the main inducement, the jury consists of three well-known writers: David Castillo, Martí Gironell and Gemma Pasqual.

European Story Contest

Wednesday 26, to also celebrate the International Day of Foreign Catalonia, we announced the winners:

  • Short story category (up to a thousand words): "Forgive me" by Montse Oliva Vergara (Casal Català d’Araba)
  • Narrative Category (more than a thousand words): “The club” by Alejandro Molina (Catalan House of Brussels)
  • Honorable Mentions: "Hivernem" by Sandra Feixas (Catalan House of Lisbon) and "Change of air" by Ariadna Pascual (Catalan Center of Cologne).

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to the jury.

The winner of the "Sant Jordi a mil" contest organized by the Catalan Center of Luxembourg was "Treva i pau" from a historical CCL: Anton Marco. It did not win the European competition but we know that the jury evaluated it positively and emphasized that the general level was very high.
