Wednesday 2 In October we invite you to a new one Literary Coffee, this time about the novel Guinedell, countess of the stones d’Africa Ragel. It will be at 19 hours local (88, Rue de la Semois). CAUTION: we will have a live telematic connection with the author, who will discuss the novel with us.
Guinedell is a historical novel about a key historical figure who, undeservedly, she has remained in the shadow of her husband, Guifré el Pilós. Coming from a friendly environment, when the protagonist arrives at her new residence for the arranged marriage with Guifré (his cousin), he finds himself in a hostile environment full of intrigue and conjuring. Over time, he moves more comfortably and pursues his goals, taking advantage of the relationship of equality he established with his spouse.
Africa Ragel (Barcelona) is a contributor to the magazineIcaria, from the Historical Archive of Poblenou. She has a degree in Catalan Philology, master's degree in Literary Creation from Pompeu Fabra University and professor of Catalan Language and Literature. Among his works stand outWhen they come for me (2015) andGreat bird of silence (2019), youth novels, children's books and theater.
