As a preview of Sant Jordi, the weekend 17 to the 19 d’abril, Luxembourg hosts the Spring of Poets 2026. This year the invited Catalan poet is Laia Carbonell, who will participate in the recitals on Saturday evening at City Circle and from Sunday morning to Simoncini gallery.
One year, Luxembourg hosts an international poetry festival by vocation and by definition. Eleven poets from different countries will take part from Friday 17 of April at 7 pm at the abbey of colors. On this occasion, Saturday the festival visits a new room: el Cercle Cité, in the center of Luxembourg City. The great night of poetry will take place there, the central act of Spring, which will also start at seven in the evening. Finally, Sunday we will meet at eleven in the morning at the Simoncini Gallery, also in the city center. In these last two recitals you will have the opportunity to hear the voice and verses of Laia Carbonell.
Laia Carbonell Ferrer (Castellbisbal, 1986) has published the poetry collections Nibros (City of Manacor Prize for Poetry Miquel Àngel Riera 2019) and Finland. Poetry with accompaniment (Amadeu Oller prize 2015). From the gene of 2019 she is one of the three programmers of Barcelona's weekly poetry cycle The Horiginal and is also a member of the experimental poetry association Sonhoras. His published poetry is fully translated into Spanish by Elena Aguilar in the collection And the snow will fall (2025, Editorial Mixture). She has recited at the main poetry festivals in Catalonia and has been included in several anthologies of poetry in Catalan.
