“Ocaña, intermittent picture” – “Most of Catalan cinema”

Continuing the cycle of the basic works of Catalan cinema, Tuesday 7 in June 20.30, Cinémathèque Luxembourg projects the debut of Ventura Pons:

Ocaña, intermittent picture (1978)

It is a documentary that portrays the life of the painter José Pérez Ocaña transvestite and the post-Franco Barcelona 1978 through the eyes l'artista. It is a walk through the streets of the city and its environments in a period during which the law was still in force social danger, used to repress homosexuals. The film represented the first foray into the world of cinema Pons, after more than ten years directing plays, and competed at the Cannes Film Festival that year.
