Literary Café dedicated to The Punishment

The book narrates the complex network of relationships around a secondary school teacher, the sandra, in the Sant Andreu neighborhood of Barcelona. Things get complicated with the arrival of a positive and seductive teacher, and even more so when a student, l'Izan, commits sexual assault.

With a casual tongue, alive and well, and playing with points of view, the author portrays some characters, a neighborhood, a city and a society. With the participants in the Café we will discuss to what extent he has achieved this and how he has done it. Surely the text will also allow us to ramble on about politics (linguistics, educational, etc), society, psychology and literature.

William Sala (Barcelona, 1974) is professor of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He won the Documenta Award withImagine a street (Empuriabrava, 2007) i l’any 2019 publishedThe escape of the crab man.
