Nuria Giménez Lorang’s documentary traces the life of Vivian Barrett through excerpts from her diary and images filmed by her husband, Léon Barrett, between the years 40 and 60 of the twentieth century. We see how Vivian seeks happiness, love, exoticism… In other words that is, the novelistic daily life of a certain bourgeoisie with a particular epigraph: "Lying is just another way of telling the truth".
This first work by Giménez Lorang presents a brilliant plot that inaugurates, in his own way, a new genre: documentary melodrama. Thus it has enjoyed recognitions in Spain and everywhere. For example, he won the Gaudí Awards and the Gijón and Rotterdam festivals.
